Winter Formal

It was just yesterday she was playing in our front yard with piggie tails and missing her two front teeth. Fast forward 10 years later and I'm photographing her for the winter formal high school dance. I blinked and our neighbor girl grew up. So crazy how that happens. I photographed seven couples who were all going to the dance. The time of the photo shoot wasn't the greatest as far as lighting. We couldn't start until 5 p.m. but most people couldn't come until 5:30 p.m. which meant I was pretty much shooting in the dark, the very dark dark. But the teens seem to be perfectly satisfied with their pics. They aren't hard to please at this age. :)

They could only be serious for so long and then things needed to get silly!

This photo shoot was a first for me. I was asked to take pictures at a memory care facility of a family who wanted some pictures with their ailing mom. Three of the siblings flew in from out of state while the other daughter lives here. I've always had a special place in my heart for the elderly. As a teenager I worked in the dining hall at a senior care center and I loved that job! My first rotation in nursing school was at a nursing home and I really enjoyed that too. This was a very candid photo shoot with not much posing involved. I hope the family will be able to have these photos as memories for a very long time.

1st Birthday Celebration

It has been so fun to follow this little guy through his first year of life. His parents hired me to do his monthly photos starting at 3 months of age. He just celebrated his first birthday. I enjoyed capturing some fun moments at his first birthday party.

Prom, oh what fun!

Let's just say that this group of Seniors was a lot of fun! I really enjoyed taking their pictures at Mesa Center for the Arts. It was very refreshing to be around teenagers who are respectful, kind, and thankful. Not that I am around other teens who are not this way, but it seems you always hear about the "bad" ones and it was nice to be around the "good" ones. It was also fun to see the pretty dresses these gals wore. I loved the bright colors and modest look they all had. Camden, my 9 year old, went along as my helper tonight. He was a great help and it was great to hang out with him. This is the first time I have taken one of my kids on a photo shoot but I could get used to it. Camden, your hired!

Homecoming

I had the pleasure of taking homecoming pictures for my nieghbor and 12 other couples. It was so much fun! I created a little area in my living room for a backdrop. I was very pleased with how they turned out. This was a fun group of high schoolers and they were all very polite and appreciative. It was fun to see the different personalities. Here are a few random pictures.

This is my neighbor and his date. Don't they make a great looking couple but I was informed that they are just friends. So cute!

1 year pictures

Today I took pictures of this sweet baby girl. It is her 1st birthday and mom wanted some pictures with her and both sets of grandparents. It was a fun shoot and I really enjoyed taking their pictures. She is such a smiley girl so it wasn't hard at all to get her to smile for the camera.
